Evolutis is a French medical device manufacturer specializing in orthopedic implants, including hip, shoulder, hand, and knee prostheses. Operating in a highly regulated environment, their production places strict demands on process stability, surface quality, and reliability.
When Evolutis invested in two new DMG machines with high-pressure coolant systems in 2018, their existing oil mist solutions could no longer meet the demands of their production. The precision required for manufacturing medical implants meant that both surface quality and machine maintenance were at risk.
The solution? An oil mist separator from 3nine. Since then, every new machine entering the workshop has been equipped with a 3nine unit. Today, the end HEPA filters last 3-4 years, and maintenance is performed preventively according to Evolutis’ schedule.
This year, Evolutis equipped a DMG NTX 2500 with the oil mist separator FREJA from the new APEX Series. Designed for airflows up to 1,000 m³/h, FREJA is optimized for wet machining applications using oil or coolant. Building on 3nine’s proven separation technology, the APEX Series provides stable, low-maintenance operation — supporting the high precision and reliability required in medical manufacturing.
